Come as you are!
Typical of our surrounding culture, First Baptist welcomes you in whatever fits your casual lifestyle.
Bring your children!
A greeter at the door will help you take babies and toddlers to the second floor for safe-keeping during worship. Children K—8 start worship with adults and depart after a special children’s message. The rest of the hour is devoted to church school upstairs. During the summer months, children K—8 head upstairs for church school before worship.
If you come with a child:
We welcome all children! During worship, we have a "family room" for families with infants and small children so that worship can be seen and heard, but the family is free to move about and not have to worry about making noise. We also have a nursery and care can be provided if needed. Care for older preschool children is provided by volunteers and paid staff during our traditional and contemporary worship services. Our childcare providers are certified and experienced in offering such care.
Get acquainted!
Immediately following worship, we gather to chat and snack in the area just east of the sanctuary. This is a great opportunity to check out the "attitude" of our church family. When asked by the pastor how the first visit went, one visitor compared this relaxed meet-and-greet time as a verbal "group hug."
